A GREAT TRIMMER
After spending about 15 minutes assembling the Tanaka (The directions are awful, but fortunately what you have to attach is very simple to figure out), I've just spent the last 1.5 hours trimming all around my 3 acres of land, and it absolutely rocks!
This thing is powerful. It cut through a number of 1/4 inch weeds, took the paint off of the side of my 1870's farm house, and was quick to leave bald spots on my lawn if I didn't aim it right. Its going to take me a little bit of time to get used to swinging this thing around without leaving bald spots, but its nice to finally have something powerful enough to do what I need it to do.
The self-feeding line by bumping it on the ground is really kind of neat, and quite useful, and I was amazed at how light it was. My arms definitely hurt after using this for over an hour, but it wasn't that big of a deal to get done. I have this feeling even with its light weight my wife wouldn't last more than 30 minutes with it, but that should be all that is needed on a regular basis once I catch up from years of not proper trimming (Not that she'll likely touch it, but just in case people are wondering).
I definitely got ALOT more bang for my buck buying this at Amazon than buying anything at a local retail store. I am very happy with the decision.
